Prerequisite for CBT/AED Instructor re-certification is a minimum of three (3) years of EMT field experience with one re-certification or current King County Paramedic certification. Fire Service Instructor One is recommended.
King County paramedics are required to attend the morning session only. The afternoon session will include an EMT skills rodeo that will allow instructors to complete their practical skill requirements for all 2006 CBT modules. Those EMT CBT instructors in attendance who demonstrate King County skill standards at the rodeo will require no further practical skill evaluations for the 2006 season.
NOTE: Instructors need only attend one session

8:30 - 11:30 2006 CBT content, Defib/CPR Protocols, and CPR Practicals
- includes update to the new Patient Care Guidelines
This class will allow CBT instructors to evaluate “in-house” AED/CPR classes only and not public classes. Those EMTs and paramedics who wish to teach the AHA curriculum to the public will have to complete an approved 3 hour AHA Instructors Endorsement Course (locations will be offered throughout King County). 12:15 - 5:00 CBT Skills Check-off Rodeo
Registration is required. Each department is allocated one spot per instructor per shift per station. There is a maximum capacity of 30 per class.
